Renewals
Registrants must log in to their CDAS registrant portal and complete the online renewal process by clicking the “Annual License Renewal” tile. This is accessible to valid license holders annually from December 15th to January 31st.
Please ensure you have all required documentation and method of payment prepared prior to completing your renewal application.
Presently to renew a full practice license you must upload the following into your renewal application:
- valid CPR certificate
- valid Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) certificate
- valid Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) certificate

Presently to renew a non-practice license you must complete the following:

Please note: All currency requirements must be submitted by the end of your 3-year Professional Development (PD) cycle:
- 36 Professional Development/Continuing Education credits
- 300 practice hours
Reinstatement
This is applicable to Lapsed Members only, and at this time you must contact the CDAS office for instruction.
If your license has lapsed and you decide to return to dental assisting, you will need to apply for a full practice license, and must follow the requirements to reinstate.
If choose to reinstate in under 3 years of the date of expiration, you must complete and upload the following documentation into your CDAS Member Center:
- 36 Professional Development/Continuing Education credits
- 300 Practice Hours acquired in the previous 3-year period (a completed Practice Verification Form must be completed by your employer or provider of a volunteer opportunity with your proof of hours and explanation of competencies completed)
- current Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) course certificate
- current CPR certificate
- current Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) certificate
If you choose to reinstate after 3 years of the date of expiration, you must complete and upload the following documentation into your CDAS Member Center:
- 36 Professional Development/Continuing Education credits

Request a Letter of Good Standing
A registrant is in “good standing” if they have met and submitted all required documents, and complied with all other statutory requirements for current licensing. A letter of good standing confirms the registrant is in compliance with legislation.
