If you want to legally practice as a dental assistant in Saskatchewan, you must be registered with the regulatory body and hold a current license. You can apply for licensure if you meet any of the following requirements:

Accredited Education

To qualify you must:

  • graduate from an accredited* dental assisting program in Canada
  • pass the NDAEB Written Exam

Are a Dental Assistant in Another Province

To qualify you must meet these Labour Mobility requirements:

  • Hold a current dental assisting license in a regulated Canadian jurisdiction (dental assisting is unregulated in Ontario and Quebec)
  • Hold a current registration/certification/license (practice rights) in good standing
  • Hold full practice status in that jurisdiction (unrestricted)

Non-Accredited Education

To qualify you must:

  • graduate from a non-accredited* dental assisting program
  • pass the NDAEB Written Exam
  • pass all minimum skills on the NDAEB Clinical Practice Evaluation
